This freewrite is a few days late but for a good reason. We are currently on holiday on the beautiful African island of Mauritius, getting some much needed rest (photo above is the view from our hotel on Turtle Bay). It’s our first “proper” holiday since the pandemic and it is an absolute delight to wake up to stunning views of a sandy beach lined with coconut and palm trees underneath blue skies.

Psalms 104:24 NKJV
“O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions—
This great and wide sea, In which are innumerable teeming things, Living things both small and great”

Spending time in nature never fails to put me in awe of God’s unfathomable power – whether back on the winter-choked shores of England or staring across the sun-sparkled waters of the Indian Ocean. The Unseen Hand that orchestrates the seasons, constructing and sustaining micro and macro ecosystems.

I feel very blessed to serve and be loved by a God who created nature not only for our livelihood and survival but also for our enjoyment and delight.

Creation is wonderfully perfect in complexity.
Designed by an Artist undiscovered,
nature in full swing tells of Him.
Our God transcendent but with us resident.
